William C. Chapman, affectionately known as Willie, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on May 7, 1952, William’s life was a steady testament to kindness, quiet strength, and integrity. William was born in Cortland, New York on May 7, 1952 to Paul and Arlene Chapman. William retired from Electro Lines, Inc. in 2015 where he had been employed as a warehouse manager. In his free time, William was an avid bowler and golfer, loving husband, father, grandfather and was a friend to all. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and especially his grandchildren. He had a magnetic personality, was a story teller, jokester and riddler. He also liked camping at Brennan's Beach in Pulaski. The secret can now be told - Willie was one of the masterminds behind the legendary "Marcellus Slate Hill Monster" in the mid 1960's.
Throughout his 74 years, William touched the lives of many with his gentle nature and sincere character. Those who knew him will remember his warm demeanor and the unwavering support he offered to friends and acquaintances alike. Whether sharing in moments of joy or standing by during times of hardship, William maintained a dignified presence that left a lasting impact on all around him.
