Zenetta Baker, 94, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2026 surrounded by her loving family and friends at Oneida Healthcare Center.
She was born on August 5, 1931 to Raymond and Zenetta (Abells) Horner in Syracuse, NY.
She spent 36 happy years with her husband Richard Baker, before he passed in 1994.
Zenetta's most recent job was at Fays which became Eckard. She was very proud of the work she did there. She also spent 20 years working at the A+P store.
Zenetta was a member of First North Presbyterian Church which later became known as Westminister Presbyterian Church, located in Syracuse NY. Here, she served as a deacon, taught Sunday-School, and was a member of the choir.
She could often be found playing bingo, cards with loved ones, and attending family gatherings. Being surrounded by her family and friends was something she found most important in life. She also loved to tell humorous stories.
Zenetta is predeceased by her Parents, loving Husband, Richard, and her brother Harry (Ruth) Horner.
Zenetta is survived by Daughter, Zenetta (Don) Vigars, Granddaughter, Zenetta Kimpland, Great-Granddaughter, Zenetta (Lee) Knapp, Great-Grandson, Zachary Chapman, Granddaughter, Michelle (Scott) Fields, Great-Granddaughter, Tiffanie (joe) Hurry, Great-Granddaughter, Skyler Fields, Daughter Laura (Shawn) McCormick, Granddaughter Laura A (Tony) Laureano, Great-Grandson, Nathan Hughes, Great-Grandson, Gabrial Laureano, Granddaughter, Angela (Kyle) Christmas, Great-Grandson, George Christmas, Great-Grandson, Ollie Christmas, Grandson, Brandon (Stephanie) Sherwood, Great-Grandson, Dylan Sherwood, Great-Granddaughter, Maddie Sherwood, Sister-in-law Ruth Horner, and Niece, Erin Horner.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th, from 10am-12pm with a service at 12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, New York. There will be a burial following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association on Zenetta's behalf.
