Joann M. (Heater) Barber, 84, of North Syracuse, passed away Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born April 6, 1930 in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William Heater and Gladys Miller.
Joann was a graduate of C. Fred Johnson City High School. She was a receptionist at Upstate Medical Center for many years. Joann was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Richard Barber in 2001 and 2 sons, Jeff and Jason.
Joann is survived by her daughter, Robin of North Syracuse; 2 sons, Randy of Red Hill, PA and Jon of North Syracuse; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 1 niece, Bonnie Cawley.
A memorial service was held at the North Syracuse Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
