In Memory Of
Nancy L. Battelle
1934 - 2017
Nancy married her first love, Ronald Battelle, whom she met in grade school, where she said the girls called him “mystery eyes.” Together, they had four children and lots of fun with their family and friends, taking trips, having parties, camping at Paradise Cove, and cruising around on boats – one of which was even named after her: the Nancy L.
They lived in Liverpool, NY for several years before moving permanently to their favorite weekend destination, Sylvan Beach. After Ron passed away, Nancy developed a close bond with Edward Krick and, together, they had years of adventures and good times.
Nancy enjoyed parties at “Twelve Oaks” in Sylvan Beach with family and friends, spending the colder months in Nokomis, Florida, antiques, poodles, bling, anything pink, and toddy time. Everyone who knew her will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her second love, Edward Krick; her devoted daughters, Theresa Lynn (Lou) Ryan, Laurie (Rick) Velzis, and Beth (Steve) Hurst; her son, Michael Battelle; her siblings, Patti Hawk, Barbara Vermilyea, and Patty Quackenbush; many adoring grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and many dear friends.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2pm – 4pm and funeral services on Monday at 10am at Newcomer Funeral Home 705 N. Main St. N. Syracuse. Interment in St Patrick's Cemetery Oneida.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care 4277 Middle Settlement Rd, New Hartford, NY 13413 or Rome Humane Society 6247 Lamphear Rd, Rome, NY 13440 . To leave a special memory for the family, click Share Memories button above.
