In Memory Of
Martha (Marti) Edgar
1941 - 2018

Martha (Marti) Edgar graduated to heaven on 31 January 2018 quietly at home, in Liverpool New York. She had been dealing with cancer off and on for a longtime.

Marti was born in Eagle, New York on October 21, 1941 to Jasper Buck and Violet Green.

Marti is survived by her husband Charlie: six-Buck brothers: David (Pauline), Dana, Leslie, Albert (Iva), Robert and Carroll (Jackie); also four children: Dennis (Kelly) Spence, Spence (Kerri) Fascing, Christopher (Chantheary) Edgar and Jennifer (Paul) Shelton; and nine grandchildren plus many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Marti graduated from Nyack College, a Christian College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

Marti was an elementary teacher in several schools; her last teaching job was at Holland Patent CSD.

A friend of Matri’s who was also one of her former fifth grade students from 45 years ago remembers Marti showing her love and compassion which was life changing for her.

One time when Marti was in cancer treatment, she was asked about her positive attitude. Marti response was “Either I’m God’s or I’m not. I’m God’s!!!” Marti had a personal relationship with Jesus.
People were always commenting on her positive personality even this last year. One of her outpatient therapist wrote, “I choose to smile, giggle and laughing about all of the wonderful and fun moments that we shared.” Another therapist wrote: “I am so blessed and inspired by Marti and am truly so lucky to have gotten to know her over this past year!! She is an inspiration and I miss her laugh every day!!”

A graduation ceremony will take place Saturday February 17, 2018 at Redeemer Evangelical Convent Church, 7565 Morgan Road, Liverpool, NY 13090, starting about 10am. After the service, light refreshments will be served. All are welcome to come.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or to Hospice of CNY.
