1944 - 2018

Eugene L. Leimer, 73, of Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly on Friday. Eugene served 6 years in the US Navy on a submarine. He was a retired 20 year veteran with the Syracuse Police Department as Detective Sergeant in the Homicide Division. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Eugene was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Marion (DeMars) Leimer and his brother, Robert Leimer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Elaine; 3 daughters, Shellie (Ken) Gamlen, Marie (James) Holloman and Susan Leimer; son, James Leimer; 7 grandchildren, Joey, Valerie, Joe, Cierra, Paige, Gabe and Jules; many great-grandchildren including, Riley, Sophie and Vlad; a nephew, Jeff Leimer and a niece, Michelle Miles.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
