William G. “Willie” Wilcox, 81, of Bridgeport, joined his loving wife Norma on Tuesday in God’s Kingdom, surrounded by family. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Harold and Dorothy Wilcox. Willie served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and retired from Clinton’s Ditch Co-Op after a lifetime of service. He was a member of the Cicero American Legion, the Bridgeport VFW and was head of the Gateway Athletic Association.

He was predeceased by his daughter Renee Brown and his sister, Beatrice Darrow.

Surviving are his 4 sons; Richard (Marie), Timothy (Jacqueline), Harold “Bubba” (Tracy), Kenneth (Elizabeth), son-in-law, George Brown, 14 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, a brother, Larry (JoAnne), 2 sisters; Sally (Wayne) Forshee , Yvonne Frye & brother-in-law, Richard Darrow.
The family would like to thank the 4 South Staff at Crouse Hospital for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, with services to follow. Burial will be at Bridgeport Cemetery in the Spring.

Donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
