Dorothy Jean Rexford, 80, of Cicero, passed away on Saturday. Born in Redwood, NY, she was the daughter of Ervin and Grace Steacy Rexford. She graduated from Redwood High School. Dorothy worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of CNY for over 40 years serving in various management positions. She retired in 1994. Dorothy most recently lived in Cicero and for the past 5 years resided at Birchwood Health Care Center in Liverpool. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, travelling, and spending her winters in Myrtle Beach, SC. She is predeceased by two sisters, Julie Fikes of Lysander, NY and Leah Guinta of Hammond, NY.
She is survived by a sister, Rita Schermerhorn of Ogdensburg, NY; a brother, Harry (Connie) Rexford of Massena, NY; a nephew, Paul Fikes of Pennellville, NY; two nieces, Lori (Robert) Armstrong of Eldersburg, MD and Susan (Robert) VanDusen of Massena, NY; a grandniece, Katie Armstrong and a grandnephew, Ryan Armstrong.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11th at 11AM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
