Louise “Sarge” Schmidt, born November 12, 1945 passed away at the VA Medical Center on November 28th after a brief bout with cancer. She was a Veteran of the USAF and was stationed at Hancock during her tour of duty as an airport crash rescue firefighter at the 174th fighter wing. She was also a life member of GBAC Ambulance Corp and a past member of the Cicero Fire Department as Fire Police.

She is predeceased by her husband, William Schmidt.

Surviving are her only daughter, Pamela Moltrup of Cicero; a twin sister, Lois Duford of Peru, NY; sister, Jean West of Maryland; and sister, Jo-Ellen Cornell of Starke, FL. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday 2-4PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse with a memorial service to follow at 4PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY or Cicero Fire Department.
