Robert D. Adams
1941 - 2017

Dr. Robert D. Adams, of Cato, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness. Robert retired from SUNY Canton where he taught as a Professor of Humanities and also served and retired from the Army. A life long scholar, he earned several Doctorates. In an effort to give back to the Syracuse community, he taught GED courses and remedial courses to assist at risk students. He was an avid gardner, historian and traveler.

Robert was a true “Renaissance” man, there wasn’t anything he didn’t know something about. The classroom lights just went on in heaven. He will be greatly missed.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Grace and Hiersnim Adams and brother, Jerry Adams.

He is survived by his spouse, Lou Castelli; beloved friends, Jessica Cupoli, John and Cody Tonkin; nephew, Tom Adams of Hurst, TX; 2 nieces, Ruth Adams of Bastrop, TX and Grace McLeod of Weddington, N.C. and sister-in-law, Thum Adams of Hurst, TX

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Finger Lakes Hospice at www.hospiceofthefingerlakes.org or call (315) 255-2733
