Robert P. McDuffie, of Cato, NY, died on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 after a brief illness.

Born in Syracuse in 1950 to Sally and Robert McDuffie, Bob was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. He served our nation in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was deployed to Vietnam where he was an aircraft mechanic and production planner from 1972 to 1973. Upon his discharge he continued his service as a Letter Carrier and Postal Clerk in the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2001.

Bob was an avid bowler, participating in leagues and tournaments throughout his life. It was at the bowling lanes where he met his wife of 43 years, Oksanna (Sue). They moved to Cato in 1976, where they raised their two daughters Chrystal and Stacy, and had many beloved pets.

Bob was skilled in building and repair, ranging from major home improvement projects to auto maintenance and tinkering with electronics. He enjoyed the outdoors including camping and boating. In recent years his hobbies included visiting casinos and watching the History Channel. Other interests included listening to classic rock, especially The Doors, and watching movies, especially science fiction.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and his brother.

He is survived by his wife Sue, his daughters Chrystal Cullen and her husband Dan of Albany, Stacy McDuffie and her fiance Kyle Getz of Niagara Falls, his mother-in-law Anastasia Schell, two sisters, several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Bob was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter #704 in Auburn, NY.
