Vern enjoyed boxing, mixed martial arts, cosmetology, basketball and cooking. Vern was a member of the Deaf Club of Syracuse, and he also drove truck for many years, where he earned the nickname “Blue Lightening”.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Keesha Winston.
He is survived by his children; TaPia Cutts, Sir Winston (Nicole), DeVernie Winston, Jr., Brandon Boyce, Gerald McGill, mother, Alfreda Jones, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and his 6 siblings.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 8th from 4-5pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
