Helen was born in East Syracuse, New York on April 28, 1917, to the late John and Eleanora Legawiec.
She loved spending time with her children, gardening, and especially shopping with her daughters.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth R. Chilton; a son, Kenneth R. Chilton Jr.; daughter, Shirley Solenthaler; and a granddaughter, Laurie.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ethel H. McLaughlin, and Helen (Donald) Stoddard; two sons-in-law, Douglas McLaughlin, and Bart Solenthaler; grandchildren, Kenneth, Bart, Brian, Brad, Donald, Joelle, and Gene; and many great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, April 25, 2019, from 4pm-6pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, NY 13212. A mass of Christian burial will take place Friday, April 26 at 10am, at St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale, NY.
