Maryellen Elizabeth Cozzens
1927 - 2019

Maryellen Elizabeth Cozzens, 91, of North Syracuse, passed away December 5, 2019.

Maryellen was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 18, 1927 to the late Joseph and Jessie McConnell. Maryellen was a tough mom when she had to be and caring loving mother when she needed to be, especially when raising seven very active kids by herself in Brooklyn, NY. She was a devoted Catholic that did not miss a Sunday in Church over the last 40 years. She loved to travel especially to the more out of the way locations that most people probably would not go to. Over the years she worked for the US Mint in Manhattan (5 stories under water ) and Bell Telephone Corp in Brooklyn.

Yes, she has passed away but she’s not going anywhere she’s just changing an address. Goodbye Mom.

She was predeceased by two sons, Anthony Schieno, and Scott Hampsey; four husbands, Edward Lawrence, Donald Cozzens, Robert Hampsey, and Angelo Schieno. She is survived by her three sons, Robert (Jill) Hampsey, Thomas (Marylynn Kemp) Schieno, and Joseph (Sherry) Schieno; two daughters, Jessica (Bob) Mitsiell, and Patricia (Richard) Manger; grandchildren, Scott, Brittney, Billy, Tom , Jacob, Mac, Shawn, Liz, and Jen.

Services will be private.
