Roel was born in Manila, Philippines on October 12, 1946 to the late Emilio and Soledad Serrano. He attended the Philippine College of Commerce (PCC) for 3 ½ years. He was a US Army veteran. He retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse after 24+ years. Roel was a dog lover and a very kind and compassionate human being. He was a very personable individual.
He is survived by his three brothers, Renato M. Serrano of Virginia Beach, VA, Emilito C. (Rosita) Serrano of Los Angeles, CA, and Emmanuel C. (Evelyn) Serrano of Clay, NY; a sister Rita Serrano of Las Vegas, NV; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday December 17th from 4-7 pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 705 N. Main, North Syracuse, NY 13212. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday December 18th 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, 8229 Brewerton Rd, Cicero, NY 13039.
Burial will follow after Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery and Mausoleum, 4100 East Genesse St, Syracuse, NY 13214. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CNY SPCA.
