In loving memory of James “Rusty” Whitehead of Lafayette, NY.
Rusty beloved husband of Ellen Whitehead and the father of James Whitehead of Needville, Texas, Dan and wife , Sandy of Smyrna, Gerry Whitehead of Stomping Ground, Kentucky and Steven Whitehead of San Antonio, Texas; step-father to Linda (Robert) Taylor, Sherry Bergner, John Fish and Steven Fish; grandfather to Melissa Whitehead Triller and Kyle Case, Christopher Whitehead and wife, Kelly, Lisa Whitehead and Zachary Cook, Liam Whitehead, Katie Whitehead; great-grandfather to Sadie Case.
Rusty passed away peacefully on October 12, 2020 in Syracuse, NY.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Whitehead, Sr and Beatrice Whitehead; sisters, Joyce and June and brother, Russell.
Rusty will always be remembered by his smiling face and warm Hello.
Rusty loved to fish and camping with his family and friends. He also loved to travel with his friend, John Eaton.
Rusty was a meat cutter for over 50 years and was the smiling face as you walked out the door of BJ’s Whole Sale Club until his retirement on January 24, 2013. Rusty served in the Army during the Korean War and served his country proudly.
No services will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Rusty to the American Heart Association.
