In Memory Of
Donald L. Ward
1930 - 2021

Donald L. Ward, 90, of Clay, passed away October 11, 2021. Donald was born in Ohio on November 1, 1930 to the late Casey Ward and Elizabeth Punter. He was raised in Johnstown, PA.

A U.S. Army Veteran, Donald worked many years as a bricklayer, then as a Clerk of the Works. Later he went on to own his own construction business, Ward Construction.

In his free time, he enjoyed western movies, playing golf, traveling, watching SU games and eating breakfast, his favorite meal, at local diners. You could always find Don on the dance floor boogying the night away to his favorite big band music. One of Don’s greatest pleasures in life was not only his family, but his precious cats, many of whom were fed one too many cat treats over the years.

A lifelong jokester, Don had an uncanny ability to impersonate one of his favorite Disney characters, Donald Duck, which brought such joy to his kids and grandkids.

A special thank you to Marianne for her companionship and kindness over the past few years.

He was predeceased by his Loving Wife of 60 years, Janice.

He is survived by his two Sons, Stephen Ward, James Ward; Daughter, Cynthia (Richard) Manzi; Eight grandchildren, Christa, Nicole (Brandon), Brian, Jessica, Brittany, Michael (Kelsey), Anthony (Ashley), Joseph; seven great grandchildren, Mark, Jonathon, Sean, Dominic, Kayden, Lily and Teddy.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 9-11 am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse with a service to follow at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Silver Fox Senior Center in Baldwinsville.
